Cynthia: This is like so totally rad. Vans has launched a sneaker collection to raise awareness for the ASPCA. There’s cat sneakers. And dog sneakers too.

Cynthia: The ASPCA is the American Society For The Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. Gotta love an organization that fights for the rights of animals to be treated humanely.

Cynthia: So what do you think, Marcy? Wouldn’t I look too cool for school in a pair of cat Vans?
Marcy: Are you a skate punk?
Cynthia: No.
Marcy: Are you a surfer dude or dudette?
Cynthia: No.
Marcy: Are you Sean Penn?
Cynthia: No. Ha. Obviously.
Marcy: Well, then. As Mr. Hand said to Spicoli, “You’re on dangerous ground here. You’re causing a major disturbance on my time.”
Cynthia: Marcy. That makes no sense.
Marcy: Oh yes it does.
Cynthia looks puzzled trying to figure out what on earth Marcy means.
Marcy: It means NO , Cindy! You would NOT look too cool for school because you would be the schoolteacher. You’re Mr. Hand.
Cynthia: Oh. Bummer. I wanted to be Jeff Spicoli in my Cat Vans. I wanted to be a righteous dude and battle some humongous waves.
Marcy: Don’t we all, Cindy. Don’t we all.

They are adorable. Cynthia, you can totally wear those. You might look eccentric but what's wrong with that? Just don't store them where Marcy can find them. She might deposit a hair ball, or worse.
Hmmmm… I don't know. I can't help but feel like I am too old for them. Don't want to ruin the skate punks street cred. 😉

Those are so cute! I, too, feel I am too old for them. But my husband would still wear them. I think. He has Joker Converse, so I don't know where the line is.

It's a fun teenage movie from when I was a teenager. I think it still holds up today. You should rent it when you get some time and want some silly entertainment.

Hilarious! Crazy cat ladies and mushy dog lovers can be hip, too! The genius behind them is that from a distance, no one will be able to see the print and know your obsession.
Up close, it can be a helpful tool in knowing who's friend and who's foe. "Oh no, they're a cat person. Evacuate!" Or, "OMG! My dog is basically my child. I think we'd be friends! Anyone who wears blatant dog-love shoes is a friend of mine."

I think we ladies could pull off the traditional Ked style. The high tops are a little too wild but the Ked or tennis shoe look could be worn with jeans and a cute cardigan.
