Cynthia: Springtime is just so lovely!
Marcy: It’s dead of winter.
Cynthia: Oh no no no! (she throws out her arms wide) It’s sunny and beautiful and bright colors abound.

Marcy glances outside.
Marcy: It’s raining and freezing and completely gray.
Cynthia: What I love about spring is the hope (she twirls) and the possibility (she twirls) that permeate the air.
Marcy: Are you on drugs?
Cynthia: New beginnings! (twirl twirl twirl) Daring to dream big! (twirl twirl twirl twirl) And pretty yellow dresses! (twirl twirl twirl twirl twirl)
Marcy: No. Seriously. Are you on drugs?
Cynthia: I’m on… Cookies!
Cynthia collapses on the floor in a fit of giggles.
Marcy walks into the kitchen to find Penelope Kitten in a chefs hat and apron busily baking catnip cookies.
Marcy: So exactly how much catnip did you put in to those cookies?
penelope kitten (squeaking): 2 cups.
Marcy: What? That’s quadruple what the recipe called for! Humans can’t handle that!
penelope kitten: had to.
Marcy: Why?!
penelope kitten: our human needed help.
Marcy: Well, I know she was feeling stressed out and gloomy but …
Marcy glances into the living room where Cynthia was last seen.
Marcy: … now she’s trying to make snow angels in our cat box!
penelope kitten: ok. yeah yeah. so tomorrow let’s disable her facebook app instead.
Marcy: Seriously.

Hi Lovely Readers! Happy New Year!
It seems that the whole world is mad lately and the turning of the year has only increased the woe and panic. I must admit to getting caught up in it.
But – springtime is my favorite time of year and since retailers are pretending it’s spring in the middle of January I have decided to pretend along with them!
So bring on the hope and the flowers and the bright colors and the smell of fresh grass! And, of course, the pretty yellow dresses!

HA! Snow angels in the litter box made me laugh out loud!! I love those pretty, pale yellows and that adorable cat apron. I am happy to join you in pretending it’s spring (it actually feels like it in Texas today).
We lucked out and it feels like spring here today too. But tomorrow – rain! Which is actually good too.

Send some here. Work is making me hate everyone. A lot. You know, more than usual. (Yeah, Marcy — that’s why we ‘get’ each other!) But I guess it’s a different focus than hating everything out there, right???
Meanwhile, EVERY photo you picked for this post is stunning. The dress is beautiful. I love me an empire waist, and I need it immediately. But maybe a different color, ’cause pink cheeks + orange hair + yellow dress = not awesome.

(I just checked your website and saw this post, for some reason I am not going email notifications even though when I tried to sign up again it sez I am already in the system). Anyhow, I know what you mean about the gloom…. good job on looking towards the Spring. Ha, most places in the country would love our California winters. Snow angels in litter box LOL.

LOL – we have it pretty great here! Not sure I could ever live up north when only a few days of dark and rain make me gloomy. Looks like we are in for another three days of rain. Dare I buy… rain boots?!! Or, I could always throw some plastic bags on my feet and secure them with rubber bands. Except – wait a minute – no more plastic bags allowed here. Ahahahaha…

lol Girl, I am right there with you. I am thinking forward and thinking positive and totally distracting myself with pretty things. I just ordered sprinkle mixes so I can decorate some fanciful treats this weekend. I don’t even bake. I just want to play with the sprinkles. Apparently I’ve been eating the catnip cookies, too. And Anthro is killing it with their spring preview. That bold color look book? Love it! There are two pink dresses I love right now. One has a lace popover top and a pleated skirt. The other is a babydoll silhouette dipped in white along the bottom with frayed edges. I should get one to wear around the kitchen as I twirl and decorate cupcakes!

Oh I love that you bought sprinkles and don’t really bake. Awesome! Yes – so difficult not to get the January blues and I do not even live in a cold climate like you!! I so hope Anthro comes out with some pretty green dresses. I am going to do a post about the Pantone color of the year – greenery – and also cannot wait to see your fabulous take on it. In the meantime let’s twirl around in pink! 🙂

Hon, this post cracked me UP! Honestly, I’ve been worried about you after the election, but now you seem to be back to your old self! Trump terrifies me too, but I’m still crossing my fingers you guys will manage to get rid of him soon, via the old impeachment route.
Anyway, you seem to have found your “oh my GATO dress” a la Michelle Obama! I hope it’s not too expensive, I bet you’d look lovely in it – maybe with a skinny black belt around your waist and Penelope Kitten draped over your shoulders like a black feather boa? 😉
The funny thing is that I CAN drape Penelope Kitten over me like a feather boa! I will have to find an evening dress and pose with her hanging of my shoulder. LOL
Sigh… it is terrifying over here in the ole US of A. Disorienting. Devastating. Disgusting, really. And really really sad. I have been having a difficult time getting back into the swing of things and trying not to get political. Which as you saw with my Nordstrom post… impossible. I am glad to hear that you’ve got some confidence in us over there across the pond. Love you!
