That would be so nice…

Cynthia is staring at the computer with her chin in her hand and a wistful half-smile.
Marcy (alarmed): You look insane in a sleepy but still unsettling manner.
Cynthia: Oh, I don’t know. I need some happy stories, Marcy. What with all the election horrors and even our latest posts … I mean… (she gestures vaguely) … they’ve been positive but still … they’ve had a melancholic… I don’t know… twinge…
Marcy: Yeah well… you humans appear to be having a collective melancholic meltdown.
Cynthia: Looking at shoes is making me happy at the moment. Specifically, these shoes.
Cynthia (sighing and smiling): Aren’t they just lovely?
Marcy: Why don’t you buy them?
Cynthia: Well, we’re on a spending freeze at the moment, and besides, shopping therapy doesn’t really work. It’s a myth. You only feel worse afterwards.
Cynthia continues to stare and smile at the shoes.
Marcy can’t bear it.
Marcy: So you are just going to sit there staring at a pair of shoes with a loopy grin on your face?!
Cynthia (beatifically): Yeah…
=^..^=
*More Happy Shoes!

I feel your pain: I’m looking at watches I can’t afford just to get my mind off everything else.
By the way, Marcy has become quite poetic: “You look insane but in a sleepy and still unsettling manner” and “collective melancholic meltdown.” I’d say she needs to think about writing a book…
i need an advance.

Heh. Freddy beat me to it.
What the hell, Marcy??? I have to say nice things about you two posts in a row? Is the earth spinning backwards???
Those Anthropolgie shoes are spectacular.
Spending freeze — *sigh*, indeed.
the earth is spinning the way it always spins. i’m just misunderstood.

Can’t seem to form an opinion on the shoes.
I worry about a possible meltdown when the election is over. We’ve been watching\participating in a 24-7 reality show for months now. How will we fill the void when it’s over?
Maybe we’ll all be happier after the election so the void will be filled with serenity and joy.

i just vomited.

Those shoes are really cool! Of course, I really do like the kitty ballet flats too. I agree with Freddy that Marcy should write a book! Do it, Marcy!!
like i said above – i need an advance.

Yeah, you are right that retail therapy doesn’t work for long, sigh. But kitty hugging does, so….I’m sure you would let Cynthia give you big squeezes anytime she needs to, riiiight Marcy? Teehee. ?
i thought you liked cynthia.

Haha, Somedays I spend hours staring at the computer looking at cute shoes. I don’t really shop on-line cuz I prefer the retail experience but I like to make a “must have” wish list.
Love your on-line picks
Thanks, Bri! I feel that it is fun entertainment sometimes. I mean, we all need a break, right? And shoes are awesome! 🙂

New shoes always make me happier! Especially t-straps, bow-topped, and mary-jane styles. But I like actually buying them and wearing them, not just looking at cute pictures of them, though I certainly spend a fair amount of time doing that as well! lol My mom tells this story about me getting red mary-janes as a four-year-old. I put them on the dresser before bed, climbed into bed, and then stared at them admiringly until I fell asleep. Yeah, that sounds like me.
