Much More Than Me (part two)

Cynthia wearing The White Kuai tee by Much More Than Me

Cynthia:  Last night I decided to pair my Much More Than Me rescue tee with an old but favorite Anthropologie skirt. Just to be different. Just to see if I could get away with wearing a tshirt with a fancy skirt like the kids do today.

Marcy:  Did you get mocked?

Cynthia:  No. I got compliments! And lots of people asked me about my shirt. So I thought I would blog about Much More Than Me again.

In a nutshell, Much More Than Me is a small Los Angeles based company that sells tshirts with a portion of the proceeds going to animal rescue. The shirts contain powerful messages and artistic images.  Here is an image of what the back view of my tee looks like.

Cynthia:  The founders, Caryn Casey and Kathy Schmidt, started their company to raise awareness, compassion, and funds for non-profits who work to save society’s abandoned and neglected animals.

I really love love love these start-ups that work so diligently to make a positive difference for our world. Or, as Caryn and Kathy say, “Wear the Change. Live the Love.”

Shall we, Marcy?

Marcy raises her Friskies can. Cynthia raises her martini glass.

Marcy and Cynthia:  Cheers to Much More Than Me for putting their heart and soul into a business that is much more than us!

Marcy:  Wait a minute. Is that a DOG on your shirt?!! Gasp.

Cynthia looks guilty. Then alarmed. She rushes out of the room with Marcy in hot pursuit.

Marcy:  A dog, Cindy?! A DOG?!

That looks super cute! I'll have to find a skirt to wear with my Much More Than Me shirt (which is much more welcomed by the dog in my house). 🙂

I love that shirt! Of course, because it has a dog on it. But also because it is a great cause. And it is fashionable shirt to boot. I LOVE it with that skirt. It is perfect!

Thank you, Jenni! I just submitted it as a Reader Outfit on Effortless Anthropologie.
The shirt is sooo comfortable and has a really nice drape to it – unlike most tshirts. And of course – I love the cause too!

Thank you so much for your kind words about Much More Than Me. You look completely adorable in your shirt paired with the skirt! All of the styles work well for mixing and matching- dressing up or dressing down depending on your mood! P.S. Marcy there is a MMTM tee with a cat on it but probably not as sophisticated as you! Just sayin. With gratitude, Caryn Casey

I love this look! I recently tried out a graphic tee and fancy skirt, too. It strikes a nice balance. I love the black and white you're sporting here, but the message of the t-shirt is my favorite part. Our Jazzy is a rescue, and I'm a huge proponent of adopting animals from rescues. The excuses listed on the t-shirt are great and definitely strike a chord about how we need to take ownership of our pets and not just pass them off when faced with challenges. Thanks for sharing "Much More Than Me"!

Liz – I can't tell you how excited I am to hear you say this about my look. I often worry that I am just too old to do something trendy and youthful.
Love love love that your Jazzy is a rescue!!! I wish more people would adopt from rescues and shelters. And of course be diligent about spay/neuter. etc. etc. etc. I could go off on a tangent. lol

I love the look of a casual tee with a conservative or dressy skirt. I find it to be more grown up and appropriate to our age group. What a nice message the shirt puts forth as well. You will have to get a cat shirt so Marcy will calm down. Marcy will be happy to know that I would love to have a cat version of this shirt.
    Have a nice evening,

Yay! Thank you, Stacey! Isn't it interesting how as we get older certain clothing just does not work? And because of that I then get concerned that I am dressing too young if I want to try out a trend. I am so glad that this one works!!!
Oh and I have so many cat shirts it's crazy. Marcy just needs to clam down anyway. lol

I loved your shirt on EA's reader outfits… and love it even more now that I've seen the back. Although it does make me sad. I have 2 cats and a dog and it breaks my heart to think of them in a shelter/rescue.

    • Reply MarcyVeryMuch April 5, 2014 at 5:37 am

Thanks, Liana! Well, the good thing about the shirt is that it is a conversation starter. Both my sister and I are always fielding questions about it when we wear it. And, of course, that money from the sales of the shirts goes to animal rescue.
I didn't know that you also had two cats!! Meowza!
