An OOTD featuring gaucho jeans and a lacy tee!…
(buying via the affiliate links may result in Marcy and Penelope Kitten getting more treats)
Cynthia steps into the living room with purpose and glee and her camera.
Cynthia (declaring loudly): I feel cute! Let’s do an outfit post!
Marcy: Your tee is too big.
Cynthia: What?!
Marcy: Your. Tee. Is… Toooooo. Big.
Cynthia: Nah.
Marcy: Yah.
Cynthia: It’s breezy!
Marcy: It’s boxy!
Cynthia: You’re wrong. I feel great. I’m going outside to take pics.
Cynthia exits with her camera.
An hour later. Cynthia is at the computer editing her OOTD pics.
Something isn’t quite right.
Cynthia: Darn. My tee is too big.
Marcy: Told you so.
Cynthia (pouting): Darn camera. It was perfect in my mirror.
Marcy: You need a prop. Pose with this in front of your shirt.
Marcy hands Cynthia one of her brand new just delivered soon to be in the Marcy Shop “Hell No Kitty” pouches.
Cynthia: But then this post becomes about you and your Marcy Merch rather than me and my outfit.
Marcy: Exactly.
=^..^=
*Okay so Marcy wins on this one.
I’ll have a post up on Monday about the truly wonderful non-profit in India that makes these Marcy bags for me.
And, in the meantime, notes on my outfit:
Shirt: LOFT Lace Yoke Tee. It runs a size too big but is so soft and pretty. The lace is extremely delicate and I do not have much hope that it won’t fall apart after one washing. Buy on sale only.
Jeans: 7 For All Mankind Culotte With Released Hem. I love these and am never taking them off! These also run a size too big but at least I noticed right away and was able to exchange them. These are on sale now at Anthropologie and on the 7 For All Mankind website (which constantly has extra % off sale prices.)
Belt: J.Crew from years ago. Super cute similar here.
Sandals: My trusty 8 year old Miss Albright sandals from Anthro! Similar here.

This is a great outfit!!! It’s stylish and comfy. I don’t think the shirt looks too big, I think Marcy was just looking for a reason for you to hawk her wares (which I love BTW).
Thank you!

Pretty shirt, cute shoes and belt, you look like an Anthro model. Are culottes becoming a thing?
Oh yes! Culottes are SO in right now! They are all over!

Cute!!! I didn’t even notice it was too big until SOMEONE had to open her big furry mouth!
However, if it bothers you, you can borrow my boobs the next time you wear it. I wouldn’t mind taking a break from them for a day.
Note: still need “hell no kitty” bag for my pens… I don’t go anywhere without my pens!
When’s the next event???
Hoping the next events are Saturday the 7th on Abbot Kinney and Friday night May 20th at the Autry. However, we had such horrible wind gusts at my last event I am now very traumatized and am waiting to officially schedule them when I an be fairly certain I won’t fly away. It was the scariest thing ever.
And yes – I will borrow your boobs sometime. Thank you!

I think you look cute and comfy in your outfit and also think shirt fits swell, so neener. (She says maturely 🙂
Neener neener neener! – i say flapping my hands at Marcy. She’s now glaring at me. lolololol

Oh my gosh! I’ve been experiencing this so much lately. A boxy tee looks fine tucked in when I’m standing in front of the mirror. But just a few minutes later after I’ve been moving around to pose for photos, it looks awful. I hate fussy clothes, and a boxy tee should not be fussy. I just want to tuck it in and have it look perfect without constantly retucking it and smoothing it out throughout the day. Is perfection too much to ask?! lol Good thing we have Marcy and outfit photos to let us know when a look isn’t working…even if we ignore them and do it again, only to have them tell us AGAIN that it’s still not working. Ugh.

I am now thinking that I should photograph myself in an outfit before I buy it or commit to keeping it. I am so frustrated that this happens. Plus, it’s weird. Why would a mirror be different than a photograph?! Arghhh!!
