Felines in fashion on the 2016 spring catwalk…

Marcy and Cynthia are perusing the pics from the spring fashion shows that took place last month.

They come across Milan-based Vivetta Ponti’s collection.

Marcy:  Cats on clothes!

Cynthia:  So cute!

Cynthia:  What an adorable collection. It reminds me of a 1970’s arts and crafts teacher.

The smart cool one – not the hippie one who smiled endlessly, hid the black paint, forced you to share, and made you draw on scrap paper so you wouldn’t be a tree killer.

Marcy:  You killed trees?

Cynthia (grumpily):  No.

Marcy:  Are you sure?

Cynthia:  I tried not to but I wanted a fresh piece of paper. And some black paint. How can you paint a house without black paint? And why did I have to share my green paint? Now I have half a yard and the trees are purple.

Marcy:  Purple trees are stupid.

Cynthia:  I know!

Marcy:  And so is sharing.

=^..^=

One last dress (sans cat) that the smart cool 1970’s art and crafts teacher would wear to a gala. I mean, obviously. Right?

I love those clothes! So cute! And I like the bands they’re wearing below their knees. But it seems like they would fall down pretty easily.

I like the bands too. Must be some pretty tight elastic to keep them up.

LOL…why wouldn’t she let you have any black paint?? These pieces are all fantastic…wow! Maybe I could pull the red one off with a really good hem job? 🙂

Merrie – you could pull off any of these! I’d love to see you in that red one!
Hippies were really weird back then. The one I am referring to wanted everything rainbows and tie-dye. Now that I’m older I think she must have been on drugs. Adults were so confusing back then. I remember having an old lady kindergarten teacher who yelled at me for drawing square flowers. You never knew which type of adult you were going to get! Hippies or rigid task masters.

LOL…I guess she didn’t want you dreaming outside the box…crazy! 🙂 You should’ve drawn the square flowers for the hippie…she probably saw something like that on one of her trips 🙂

The clothes are very cute and colorful. Your right, I can picture a preschool teacher wowing her students in these kitty duds. The designer should also consider doing a toddler collection.

These would look great on toddlers! But now I am wondering if that is an insult or not. lol

Isn’t it funny how we remember some of the weird teachers? i had a cool art teacher, unlike the nut you had. I never even noticed those leg garter things in the pics, until they came up in the comments. Ugh tight elastic. I like the dress at the end the best, but honestly, I think your little black and white tank top with Marcy’s logo on it, is way cuter than any of these clothes.

I only had the hippie art teacher. Her cabinets were filled with those frozen margarita buckets holding brushes and supplies. We swore her “coffee” was actually watered down margaritas. Maybe if I’d had a more inspiring art teacher, I might have pursued art. Instead, it was the English teachers who excited and inspired me. And my favorite English teacher is actually one of my style icons as well. lol

Am I the only one that thinks these cats are illustrations of Mr. Bigglesworth from Austin Powers? It would explain the 70s feel too. Maybe these were original costumes for the films, and the producer was all, “No, no. These are just too ahead of their time. Wait 15 years and then send them down the high fashion runway!”

OMG – Really?!! Now I have to check out the cat from Austin Powers. It’s been so long since I’ve seen it. I will look it up and get back to you if I find out any info. Veeeeeery interesting!
Oh – and I am sure you are right about the “coffee” being margaritas! Lol
