The first of our 2017 CatCon series: Steph & Kate and their minimalist cat designs…
(buying via the affiliate links my result in more treats for Marcy and Penelope Kitten)
2pm Tuesday afternoon. The Hallway Closet.
Cynthia (yelling): Arghhhhh!!!
Marcy and Penelope Kitten come running to find Cynthia frantically flinging the contents of the closet into trash bags.
Cynthia (flinging): Too. (fling). Much. (fling). Stuff. (fling fling fling).
Marcy and Penelope Kitten duck behind the hallway door.
Marcy (whispering): Looks like she is going all Marie Kondo on us.
Cynthia: We must minimal-ize! (fling).
penelope kitten (whisper squeaking): yeah yeah. saw a pink paper ball and our half eaten feather wand in a trash bag.
Marcy: Yeah. And I saw a couple of catnip mouses.
penelope kitten (plaintitively): awww…those toys “spark joy” for me.
Marcy: Me too. We need a plan.
Cynthia blindly flings a silver lamé miniskirt from 1983 that lands on Penelope’s head.
penelope kitten (squeaking from under the lamé): pronto.
Marcy and Penelope’s Plan:
cue Mission: Impossible theme song
1. Distract Cynthia with adorable minimalistic cat designs by 2017 CatCon vendors, Steph & Kate.
The designers, Miranda and Molly Richardson, are avowed minimalists which is reflected in their designs for “kids, cats, and their parents”.
2. Once Cynthia is mesmerized by minimalistic cats drawn in whimsical clean lines with a fresh black and white aesthetic –
3. the kitties will rescue their toys from the trash bags while Cynthia fills up her shopping cart.
Marcy: One. Two. Three. Activate!
Marcy shoves the computer in front of Cynthia as Penelope Kitten dives into the trash bags.
Cynthia’s eyes widen and become transfixed on Steph & Kate’s beautiful cat designs. As Miranda and Molly say – “We believe everything you have should be your favorite thing.”
Cynthia: OMG (oh my gato)! Everything in this shop is my new favorite thing!
(minimalistic) Mission: Accomplished.
=^..^=

Being a minimalist myself, this definitely appeals to me! What great designs. Marcy and P-kitty are very smart!
We love it!
xo and meow and squeak,
cynthia + marcy + penelope kitten
I love their designs even though I am a Marie Kondo epic fail.
I am pretty good at the Marie Kondo stuff sometimes – in spurts. It’s the mounds of paper that I struggle with.

Beautiful design. I plan to buy something but can’t decide what. Love the cat mug but really need coasters. Maybe my extravagant side will convince my frugal side to get both. But I also have a thing for tiny dishes. Delimma!
It’s hard to be a minimalist with so much cute stuff!

HEYYYY!!!
I’ve missed you guys.
I don’t have that minimalist thing going for me, but I’m happy to clutter my life with this gorgeous minimal art and kitty trinkets! I’m going to bring actual money to CatCon this year.
And what are you thinking, throwing away a silver lamé miniskirt??? Have you gone MAD???
(At the very least, save me the fabric to upcycle it into something…)
It’s yours! And yes – bring lots of money to CatCon this year as there are a ton of awesome vendors!! It’s gonna be Cat-tastic! lololol

Eeek! The mug! So minimalist! Yet whimsical! And chic! I have my bouts of Marie Kondo-inspired purging as well. In fact, I’ve purged and pitched so much that now I’m ready to replace and upgrade some of our furniture and décor. That’s why posts like this are dangerous. Because do I really need a cat mug? No. But does it spark joy? Yes. So I should probably buy a set of six.
