Cats loom large in Beth Spencer’s newest art series. …
Cynthia: Hey, Cool Cats! As you know, we love cat artists over here at Marcy Very Much.
penelope kitten (squeaking): luv ’em.
Cynthia: And one of our all time faves, as you also know, is Beth Spencer.
penelope kitten: all time fave.
Cynthia: Well, Beth is creating a series called “Big Cat Little Girl” in which –
penelope kitten: – in which all the cats are BIG and all the girls are little! ha ha.
Penelope Kitten squeaks, and giggles, and scampers off.
Cynthia: Needless to say, Beth’s illustrations are sweet, whimsical, and are a perfect metaphor about how our kitties loom large in our life.
Marcy saunters by.
Marcy: Not really a metaphor tho.
Cynthia: What do you mean, Marcy?
Marcy: Penelope found the secret snack stash. She ate everything in sight and has grown exponentially.
Cynthia: Sigh… that’s the third time this week.
Marcy: Like I said, not really a metaphor.
Cynthia (shaking her head): I know.
Marcy: More like a literal interpretation.
Cynthia: Yeah yeah. I get it.
Marcy: Just sayin’.
On cue, Penelope Kitten waddles into view happily licking her chops and visibly larger.
Cynthia: Oh, Penelope!
Penelope Kitten burps.
penelope kitten (squeaking): yum!

Maybe this is the future as cats plot to take over the world by shrinking humans. At least Beth’s cats seem to be treating their humans kindly.
Ah… great theory!

Uh well…re PK’s expansion…maybe Beth will someday consider her for an artist model.
PK just got so excited at the thought of becoming an artist’s model she fainted!

Such a fun series! Our pets really do loom large in our lives and our hearts. And Georgie looms large over us whenever she’s not getting pets. Sometimes you’ll see her in my blog photos. That’s never planned. She just has to loom and be a part of the action.

I love seeing Georgie in your posts!

Adorable. She captured the essence of the #catsonglass show I attended in NYC with 7 foot high cats and giant kitty stuff!
Oh fascinating! I would have loved to have seen that!
