More Than A Cone’s Avant Garden Party 2016!

Marcy Very Much is officially a vendor at the fabulous More Than A Cone event – Avant Garden Party! …

Cynthia leaps around in excitement.

Cynthia:  Marcy! We got in!

Marcy:  Got in where?!

Cynthia:  At this year’s More Than A Cone event to benefit animal rescues and change the way the cone is viewed. We’re going to be a vendor! Woo hoo!

Marcy’s eyes narrow and she begins to swish her tail back and forth slowly and ominously.

Marcy:  I hate those cones.

Cynthia (backing away):  Yes. I know. I know. That’s why More Than A Cone exists – to help change that hate to love. Love of a necessary and life-saving medical device.

Marcy (growling):  I’ll never love a cone.

Cynthia (nervously):  Yeah but… don’t you remember all of the awesome art inspired by the cone at last year’s event? And the spectacular fashion show? And all of the money raised for animal rescue?

Marcy hisses.

Cynthia (backing up even further):  Well… this year… we are going to be selling our Marcy Merch! And, a portion of our profits will go to animal rescue! More Than A Cone is a 501c3, you know!

Marcy suddenly stops hissing.

She walks away.

Cynthia (relieved):  Oh good. So you finally understand that this is a good thing! An awesome event! A spectacular show! Whew.

Cynthia blissfully gets busy preparing for More Than A Cone’s Avant Garden Party on September 10th.

Meanwhile…

Marcy enlists Penelope Kitten and her Biz Dev team (Business Cat, the canvassing cat twins, and the stoned-on-catnip intern) to plan a Pussy Cat Protest outside the Autry the night of the event.

penelope kitten (squeaking doubtfully):  i don’t know tho. i like a cone.

Marcy (holding up her sign):  “No more cones. No more cones.”

penelope kitten:  but… strawberry is my fave.

Cynthia (calling from the next room):  Hey Marcy! I forgot to tell you – the dress code is “fun and fabulous”! What should I wear?

Marcy (calling back):  A cone. Around your neck.

Cynthia:  You said that last year.

Marcy: Yeah well… you humans are nuts. I’m going to start my own event – “More Than A Straightjacket”.

=^..^=

Do they make cats wear cones? I’ve only seen them on dogs. And how would one attach a cone to a cat? Is a tranquilizer gun involved? Marcy, have you had the cone experience?
Cynthia, you could get a cone made for an English Mastiff and turn it into a perky skirt.
Hope the event is a fun as it sounds!

Interesting idea! And yes, cats do have to wear cones sometimes. Not sure if Marcy ever had to wear one but I am assuming by her reaction that yes – she did at some point in her life.

I’m thinking my big floofy pink skirt with my black KittyFace Emoji tank. Or – my poufy black skirt with my Marcy logo tank. I feel I really should wear either one of those tanks I’ll be selling! 🙂 I think a skirt will make it formal and fun enough! I’ll def take a pic!

I think my two guys would like to volunteer as Marcy’s interns if it means they can remain stoned on catnip!
This is so exciting! I’m so happy you got in!
What are you wearing? Are you gonna make something “cone” to wear with your Marcy Merch? Like a skirt, maybe overlaid with your logo or her pic or something?
I gotta get my ticket and make something fabulous to wear —
maybe I can sculpt some cones into a goth-steampunk straightjacket to go with my goth-steampunk cat ears…
    Yay!
(And make mine vanilla or cookie dough, Penelope)

Oh my gosh – your creativity is boundless!! Love it! I just mentioned to VIK above that I will be wearing one my tanks – either KittyFace Emoji or Marcy logo – with a big poufy skirt! I’ve got my hands full making bracelets so will not be making anything cone-like. Maybe next year! And yes – thank youuuuu – I am so super thrilled I got in! 🙂

Poufy skirt is AWESOME! You’re gonna look so cute!!!
        And I love those bracelets.
Now I gotta find where to buy cones in bulk…
I will definitely need large dog size for the bra.

I DO remember this from last year and thinking it was so cool. At that time, we’d never experienced the cone for ourselves. But between then and now, our Jazzy had to have cancerous tumors removed, and we got lots of experience with the cone. Our poor girl hated it, but it was kind of hilarious watching her move around the house like a bumper car, the cone pinging off furniture and walls. We lost her at Easter time, but the cone time was a hopeful time too because we thought the surgery would save her. Jazzy was a rescue girl, and our new pup Georgie is a recue girl too, so I love the mission of this event!

Have fun! Do good! Help animals!

Awww… rest in peace sweet Jazzy girl! And so happy that you rescued another doggie! 🙂
I love this event so much! So much creativity and such a worthy cause. I am counting down the days until September 10th!
