Cats and witches and … Marcy and Penelope?

Cynthia walks by the sliding glass door and catches a glimpse of Penelope Kitten leaping off the balcony. With a broom.

Cynthia:  Why is Penelope jumping off our balcony with a broom?

Marcy:  She thinks she’s a witch. She’s trying to fly to Salem, Massachusetts using the broom as a kind of airplane or something.

Penelope zooms up the stairs to the apartment, hops on her broom, and takes another flying leap off the balcony. But, instead of swooping off towards the sky, she lands feet first on the neighbors hydrangeas.

penelope kitten (spitting leaves and squeaking):  oopsie. sorry, mrs. mandelbaum. my bad.

Cynthia (calling down): Penelope!

penelope kitten (wrestling the broom out of a neighbor’s grill):  hi hi.

Cynthia:  Why are you trying to fly to Salem on a broom?

penelope kitten:  gotta say thank you to The Salem Cat Museum for adding my book, “mostly me, by penelope” to their library collection. wanna get there by halloween. wanna arrive in witch city kitty style.

Cynthia:  Oh my gato this is so exciting!

penelope kitten:  i know. hundreds of years of historical cat lore, modern day cat art, and me. oh and we’ll be right near  “Bake Me A Cat” by our fave Great British Bake Off contestant, the magical moggy loving sprite-like kim-joy.

Cynthia:  Yay!

penelope kitten:  i know! salem is crazy for cats and has been for centuries. this museum celebrates salem cats through art and artifacts. plus, witches which are supah cool.

Penelope prepares to take off on her broom again.

Cynthia:  Hey, why don’t we put some training wheels on your broom. You can motor around on the ground in the courtyard for the next few months instead of leaping off the balcony. Salem isn’t ready for you yet anyway.

penelope kitten:  k.

Marcy:  Hmpf. My book, “Dear Marcy, Ask Her Anything And Hope She Doesn’t Answer!” also got inducted into The Salem Cat Museum library but you don’t see me flying across the continent on a stick. I fly first class.

Check out The Salem Cat Museum!

 mostly me, by penelope

How does our anxious but amiable black kitten with a squeaky voice and a pudgy primordial pouch get through life?

Why … with a mix of pluckiness, persistence, pragmatism, and pizazz.

Join the adventures of Penelope Kitten, a Wiffle ball loving apartment cat as she navigates a world of crafty crows, killer coyotes, and vicious vacuums.

Whether she’s on her CB radio, or donning her superhero cape, or campaigning to be VP of the USA, Penelope Kitten is out to save the world (or maybe take it over).

One squeak at a time.

“Dear Marcy … Ask Her Anything And Hope She Doesn’t Answer!”

Because we all need telling off advice from an opinionated cat.

Always humorous.

Sometimes malevolent

Congrats on your museum success! I had no idea there was a museum dedicated to cats. I will put a visit to Salem on my bucket list.
