Cynthia: I worry a little that I am turning into a cat.
Marcy: You mean like when Jeff Goldblum turned into a fly in The Fly?
Cynthia: Yes, but not as gross as that.
Marcy: Well of course. Us cats are cute and captivating. So why worry?
Cynthia: I don’t know. It’s just kind of… weird.
It’s weird how much I love to sit on the floor in the morning sunspot to get warm and drink coffee.
It’s weird that I am constantly going into the kitchen to look for treats.
It’s weird how I can sit on the couch for a long time staring into space and blinking.
It’s weird how panicked I get when somebody knocks on the door.
It’s weird how bonkers I get when surrounded by people for too long and either get super mad and hissy or have to immediately retreat to a quiet space.
It’s weird how nervous I get if my regularly scheduled day is interrupted by last minute details.
It’s weird that I absolutely must wash my hair every day even though it is contributing to early balding.
Marcy: I don’t think it’s weird.
Sunspots and treats are the lifeblood of happiness.
Sitting on the couch and blinking is meditating and good for the soul.
People are tiring with their onslaught of emotions and one needs a break from them, especially us sensitive types.
It’s better to be bald than have dirty hair.
Also, no one should be knocking on the door. Not only is it bad manners, they probably want to kill you.
Hide under the couch immediately.
Other than that, being a feline is fantastic.
Welcome to our world! =^..^=

Wow! You are like a cat! That explains a lot. Just stay away from the catnip 😉
What's wrong with catnip? It seems delightful!

I think I've become one, too. I like to drink and complain a lot. Which cat does that remind you of?
Hmmmm… I think I know which one! Scooter – the Frank Gallagher of cats!

Be careful…you long-hairs are prone to fur balls.
I'll just use the Furminator on myself.

btw, i'm almost bald myself because of that thing.

There have been times when looking at my cats curled up and cozy, that I would love to trade places with them. You described the cat personality so well and I can relate to all of them for myself except washing my hair everyday. I have found that my hair looks much better and less thick and frizzy if I only wash it twice a week.
Have a nice afternoon,
Stacey
I think I may be the only person on the planet who needs to wash their hair every day. It's supposed to be so bad for it too. Grrr… Anyway – let's all be cats so the cats can believe that they have succeeded in their plot of world domination. Why not?! They have already.

Ha! Those are all good traits. I panic at the doorbell too. I just don't answer it. I watched that Oprah show once where she warned women not to answer the door. So I don't. There were two guys selling phone service a few years ago and they could see me through the window. I told them I was not opening the door but to have a good day. One of them creepily blew a kiss at me through the window. So definitely be a cat and don't amswer the door!
I wish I had washed my hair today. It is the fourth day and it is limp and flat. Maybe I should lick it. ; ). Your hair always looks great!
And now I want coffee!
Jenni
Yes – nobody should knock on the door! Especially people selling things. Yikes – those guys sound creepy!

i'll come over and lick your hair, Jenni. your hair is always so beautiful

Well… they do say that pets and their owners start to resemble each other. 🙂
I think my personality is more cat than dog. Although my cats are more like dogs than cats, I've always thought. (Is that confusing? They will run to the door when people come in, jump up, beg at the table, to name a few…)
What? Why did Oprah warn women not to open the door?
I didn't see the episode that Jenni is talking about but it was probably about some scam or robbery ring or something about people preying on a person alone in their house.
I have a cat that acts like a dog too. Hamlet fops over on his side for belly rubs!

OMG. You don't know much I'm LOLing right now. Apparently Marcy and I share this fear: "Also, no one should be knocking on the door. Not only is it bad manners, they probably want to kill you."
When I read your post title, I wondered where on earth you were going with this post. Somewhere delightful and hilarious, actually! I love how you drew these parallels between yourself and cats. I've never considered myself much of a cat person, but clearly we share many of these traits. I can't stare into space, though. I have to have music on, be reading something, have the TV on, etc. My mind has to process a zillion things at once, or else I get fidgety.
I hope you have a happy holiday! We're off to visit family in Michigan, and I'm so looking forward to all of the parties and laughs!

Oh no….the coffee in the morning thing is not weird at all! It's the best time of the day 🙂
I agree completely!

Love it! If you were a cat I would name you Cindykins!
Hahahaha! Love you!
