Cynthia: Marcy! We missed a 4th of July post!
Marcy has been hiding under the couch since 9pm, July 4th 2014.
Marcy (from under the couch): Good.
Cynthia: Come out from under the couch so we can properly say Happy Independence Day to everyone.
Cynthia: Why not?
Cynthia: Are you still scared from all the fireworks last night?
Marcy: You mean the raining gunshots?
Cynthia: Those were fireworks.
Marcy: Says you.
Cynthia: Come out and wish everyone a Happy 4th of July, A Day Late.
Cynthia: Why not?
Marcy: I’m French.
Cynthia: Sigh… not this again.
Marcy: My people are oppressed by your people.
Cynthia: Ha. That is not true. Come out.
Cynthia: You know, the French were the ones that gave The United States the Statue of Liberty. It was to honor both countries’ ideals of individual independence and freedom.
Marcy: Yeah…well…we’re taking it back.
Just then more fireworks go off in loud rapid succession. Marcy retreats even further.
Marcy: You people are dangerous to my individual independence and freedom. Now, can I get a snack under here already?!
Poor Marcy! I hope she recovers soon. How was Penelope Kitten? Ollie fell asleep and Murphy freaked out. But Murphy would use absolutely any excuse to freak out. Oh my gosh, I had to pause because I bet Marcy would kick his butt into shape. He wouldn't even see it coming. She would be all, "there's only room for one diva under this bed."
Now I might go dream about that. ; )
You're right. I don't think Marcy would share. Unless she used him for cover. Strangely, Penelope Kitten was fine. Just a little concerned.
Hope you are having a wonderful weekend!
Marcy, I appreciate your apprehension. I live in Texas where folks think fireworks and gunshots are equally safe and fun. It's always best to take cover.
that's the craziest thing i have ever heard. i would never live in texas. i am sorry that you do.
Marcy is from Texas.
no i'm not. i'm from france. paris, france
No, you're from Austin, Texas.
excuse me, anonymous, while i go bite cindy
Poor Marcy! My cats are oblivious to fireworks, and my dog is generally fearful but hailstorms, thunder and fireworks don't seem to faze him.
Oh that is so good to hear, Liana! So many pets get scared and run off this time of year.
Hello Kitty is so cute! Although I'm kinda bummed that anyone can use the copyright now…it used to be so much more prestigious when I was young…LOL 🙂 (I can't believe I wrote that). Tell Marcy that on behalf of all americans…I'm sorry for infringing on her civil (feline?) rights 🙂
Oh I know – Hello Kitty is everywhere. I do have a post coming up about her 40th birthday this year.
apology accepted. thank you for understanding me, merrie =^-^=
