Marcy Very Much Goes To The Dogs?!

Not if Marcy and Penelope Kitten have anything to do with it!…

Monday morning at breakfast.

Cynthia is blissfully munching on Grape Nuts when she’s suddenly confronted by a very solemn and somewhat threatening Marcy and Penelope Kitten.

Marcy:  We gotta talk.

Cynthia (alarmed):  About what?

penelope kitten (squeaking):  we’ve got concerns.

Cynthia:  You do?

Marcy:  We’ve been spying on you.

penelope kitten: wiretapping your phone.

Marcy:  Hacking into your email.

penelope kitten:  following your footsteps.

Cynthia:  Okaaaay…

Marcy:  We know about… the dog!

Marcy shoves a graphic of a dog at Cynthia.

penelope kitten:  squeak!

Marcy:  Explain!

Cynthia panics and can’t speak.

Cynthia:  It’s just… I … well… it’s… I was going to …

Marcy (wailing dramatically):  Admit it! You are planning to diversify our cat site! You are planning to add… (Marcy gags)… dogs!!!

penelope kitten:  squeak!

Cynthia:  Okay. Okay. Calm down. Calm down. Let me explain.

Marcy (shrieking):  How?!! How will you explain this travesty of monstrous proportions?!

penelope kitten:  dogstrous proportions!

Cynthia (hemming and hawing):  It’s just that … recently… I’ve had one of my wholesale clients – as well as numerous people at the market shows – request… dog… products.

Marcy and Penelope Kitten collapse.

Cynthia:  So… I thought I’d commission our favorite artist, Allison of Sidekick Portraits, to create a graphic of your cousin, Shwa, to go on totes and pouches. I mean, why not?

Marcy and Penelope Kitten play dead.

Cynthia:  He’s totes adorbes! He’s your cousin, for goodness sake’s. What’s wrong with giving the customers what they want? Plus, the #woof complement our #meow book bag and “Hell No Kitty” pouch purrfectly!

Marcy and Penelope Kitten refuse to stop playing dead.

Cynthia:  Sigh… you two are so dramatic. Fine. I’ll put it to a vote.

Lovely Readers, what do you think?

Dog?

No dog?

This dog?

Another dog?

Feedback welcome!

=^..^=

I vote YES! for this concept and for this adorable dog!!! 🙂 I have to believe that Marcy and P-Kitty were totally on board once they found out it was their beloved cousin Shwa!

I vote “yes” in favor of dogs. It’s always good to diversify and make more money to buy more Friskies.
According to the ASPCA, approximately 44% of all households in the United States have a dog, and 35% have a cat. That’ a yuuuuge number of potential dog-product buyers.
By the way, those are lovely photos of you kitties.

This is hysterical! I really thought every one was going to tell me no! Hmmmm… I wonder if the cats will ever speak to me again? Cats can hold grudges for a loooooong time. lololol

LOL!! But it’s so hard when my cats are mad at me. I may break my resolve at any moment. #trying

Well Marcy is always mad about something anyhow, so consider the source. And Penelope can be bribed. #thetruthhurts

You know I am a dog person, so I vote yes! I’d love to see some posts about dog rescue and rehabilitation organizations like the ones you’ve shared for cats. And doggie swag is absolutely welcome! Marcy and Penelope have no reason to feel threatened. I know our Georgie could never keep up with them intellectually. She’s just over here licking her butt. My pride and joy.

Ahahahahaha!!! Ah Georgie! No worries though – our cats do it too.
Thank you, Liz – you have inspired me to write a dog rescue post. I keep meaning to write about this fabulous organization that sets up a table at the shelters to help owners from surrendering their pets. Most of the reasons have to do with poverty. It’s a fascinating take on the problem and has been extremely successful in keeping pets in their homes.
