What a great list! I wish the cat shirt came in dog. 🙂
Thank you! We'll keep our eyes peeled for a cute dog shirt!

Marcy, I'm glad you've opted out of motherhood. I have a feeling you'd be terribly annoyed by kittens.
Are you thinking of getting bangs? All my life I've bounced back and forth between bangs and bangless. Without them I must pencil in my eyebrows, with them I must deal with an odd looking wave. Good luck with your choice.
i am annoyed by kittens. penelope kitten drives me bonkers. i never feel the need to pencil in my eyebrows. you people are weird.

Kyle and I have become the exception in our circle of family and friends. Most everyone now has a child, a child by marriage, or is pregnant. We certainly feel pressure to have kids, whether people intend to make us feel this way or not, so I appreciate the candor in "!2 Women with Perfect Responses for Why They Don't Have Kids." It's nice to see women I respect, making the same choice I am, and voicing their reasons so candidly – not that they should have to justify themselves at all. So, thank you. Sarah Silverman's words especially resonated with me. There are so many things I want more.

This is such an interesting subject to me. I have never wanted to have children and was always aghast at how people reacted to that – friends and family and aquaintances and strangers. I agree with Jennifer Aniston's quote. You really never know why someone isn't having children and it is so inconsiderate to pry. Glad this resonated with you!

I guess I never realized that people truly caring if other people had kids (except for parents bugging their kids for grandkids), was a "thing". My biological clock certainly never started up. Babysitting my 3 siblings and every kid in the neighborhood, was WAY more than plenty of kid time, enough to last me!
Hi Vik! I am so encouraged to hear that you have not been subject to those crazy comments! Sometimes I wonder if I am just too sensitive. I've had two people say – "what's wrong with you?" and another clutch her heart and declare that I will only know true love if I have a child. That kind of stuff. Finally I am at an age where it's stopped and I am left alone about it. It's very interesting to me that you say your biological clock never started up! Mine either! It makes me wonder what that urge to have kids actually is – is it biological or is it a learned thing? So fascinating!

I enjoy these posts! I enjoyed the celebrities responses about having kids. It's funny how some people push having kids. I could relate to the woman who at age 6 was not a fan of children and enjoyed Barbie more than baby dolls. I was that girl! I put off having a child because I was so scared of the idea but there was always a part of me that wanted to be a mother.
On the cat shirt topic, I love the Anthro t-shirt with the Siamese cat. I missed out on the Jason Wu Target black cat shirt and this one reminds me of his.
I'm loving Peets coffee beans lately. I love coffee more and more as I get older.
Thanks for sharing,
Stacey
Yay! I am so glad you like these posts, Stacey! I love that Siamese cat top too!
I was a barbie girl too! Who cared about baby dolls when you could dress up a barbie doll in fabulous clothes!
Your daughter is so lucky you are her mom!

Okay, so I always thought Marisa Tomei was cool, but now she is officially my hero! I mean, they all are – "I ovulate sand," for goodness sakes! This was my fave out of all the links – hands down!
Also, go buy the cat mug. Take blog photos of yourself drinking tea from it while dressed to the nines and posing on a small mountain of theatre props. It needs to be done! 😉
Oh my gosh! That is the best idea ever!! I have to do it!!
I didn't realize that this topic about not having kids would resonate with so many. Love that!!

Love this post.
We don't have kids. I'm not sure we will. For the most part, we never get any stupid comments. I have done lots of work in other countries though (Nepal, Haiti, East Timor, Tanzania) and the general reaction when I tell people that I don't have kids is abject horror and disbelief. I just tell people now that I don't have kids yet and that saves a long, awkward conversation.
Hi Liana! I just saw your comment here! Not sure what happened except that it probably got lost when I was switching over to WorPress.
I have had similar experiences with people from other countries whose reactions are disbelief. I’ve had a Russian lady and a Mexican man each say to me – “what is wrong with you”. So crazy.
I like your “yet”!
