We are so excited to meet Stay Home Club and check out their “design for the disgruntled” at CatConLA in June! …
Saturday night. 8pm
Cynthia is lazing about on the sofa, drinking wine, eating Cheetos, and watching House Hunters.
Marcy walks in.
Marcy: It’s Saturday night! Why don’t you get a life?
Cynthia: Don’t be so grumpy. I’m having a blast.
Cynthia takes another swig of wine and stuffs some Cheetos in her mouth.
Marcy: I’m signing you up for the Stay Home Club.
Cynthia: It’s a club?
Marcy: Yes. A club of one.
Cynthia’s usually dormant social anxiety surfaces.
Cynthia (starting to panic): When does it meet? I may be busy.
Marcy: It never meets.
Cynthia: Then what is it?!
Marcy: Get a grip!
It’s actually a design shop that sells snarky tees, totes, patches and pins. Lots of it is cat themed. In the words of founder, Olivia Mew, it’s a “lifestyle brand for people who have no life.” You get a membership patch with every order.
Cynthia and Marcy check out the Stay Home Club site.
Cynthia: It’s all so deliciously droll. What will you order?
Marcy: This. I think it’s perfect.
Cynthia: A ring that says… “vomit”. That is … strangely perfect.
Marcy: You mean purrrfect.
=^..^=
*Check out Stay Home Club and their catty cat designs at CatConLA this year!

This is AWESOME.
I am sick of people calling me out because I’m a giant loser with no life.
I’m going to flaunt it.
I want an emotional baggage bag. (Then I can tell people, “Don’t say I didn’t warn you…”)
Home-people are innovative.
I say we’re too busy making up cool shit in our heads to be bothered with the boredom of being “social.” ‘Cause people suck. (omg, I AM a cat… I need a membership patch.)
First, though, I’m getting some Cheetos. I never thought of having them with wine. You’re a genius!
Cheetos with wine is the BEST!!

I love it when creative geniuses turn the mundane into something magical. Remember pet rocks? A vomit ring…really, how do people think of that stuff? Is Mew her actual last name? What fun you’ll have at CatCon. Although you might be so busy you won’t have time to make the rounds.
I’m worried I won’t be able to make the rounds either. Hoping I get to meet everyone on Friday as we are all setting up. Pet Rocks… now there’s a blast from the past!

I apparently am already a member of the stay home club and never knew it til now. Yep, sitting in front of the tube watching endless Gilmore Girls reruns, while eating a giant bowl of popcorn, is my idea of a fabulous evening!!!!
That sounds heavenly! Don’t forget the wine! 🙂

Oh, I am such an exciting stay home-er that my beverage of choice is the occasional diet Hansens ginger ale.
Mmmmm… a fizzy ginger soda is just as yummy!
So we just got cable after a several year hiatus, and I have been living the couch, red wine, and House Hunters life myself. lol I love the idea of the Stay At Home club. Too funny. I hope it was met with resounding success because it is kitschy and clever and oh-so-apathetic. Too many subscription boxes require work like getting dressed, applying makeup, bathing and shaving, or cooking or maintaining a garden. The Stay At Home club is keeping it real and just my speed. lol

LOL It’s so funny how this resonates with everyone! Sometimes the best thing is the world is chilling at home with the TV and wine! 🙂
