Cynthia: How fun! The iconic American-made Kit-Cat Clockis being featured in Nordstrom display windows.
Marcy: Why?
Cynthia: To make crazy cat lovers like me super excited, trek on over to Nordstrom, pose in front of their window, and then go into their store to buy something.
Marcy: Those marketers have you people all figured out.
Cynthia: Yes.
Marcy: I bet you’re going to post these photos on Instagram and Twitter and Facebook. I bet you are going to hashtag the heck out of it. I bet you are going to give Nordstrom and Kit Cat free advertising
Cynthia (fist pumping the air): Yes.
Marcy: Why?
Cynthia: Because, Marcy… you know… CATS… and … FASHION… TOGETHER!
Marcy (shaking her head): And you fell for it.
Cynthia (excitedly): Oh yeah. Hook, line, and sinker. By the way, Marcy…
Marcy: What?
Cynthia: #Nordstrom. #KitCatClock.

So awesome! I have always had a soft spot in my heart for those clocks. I think it has a lotto do with them being in every cartoon growing up. You look so pretty. Nordstrom is so great.
Does Marcy get jealous 'cause your cat ears are pretty fabulous!
Jenni
Oh no – Marcy thinks my cat ears are stupid.
I just love that the cat clocks are not only made in the USA – they are made here in California!
Thank you, Jenni!!

Hope this means you are feeling better? Cute pics…love that you are rocking the wide legs! I think Marcy is just jealous bc the clocks look more like a tuxedo than a cow kitty (she probably would also hate being called a cow kitty…don't tell her) :). #gonordrstrom!
BTW…did you see the miu miu collection with the cat prints? I feel silly telling you these things bc I'm sure you've already seen them, being that you are the super-surfer, but if not: https://www.wearereadymade.com/2014/05/warm-is-in-mood-for-cats.html.
I want a poster of the one with the green background! So cute!
I have not seen the miu miu collection! Thank you for the link! I will check it out immediately.
It finally got cool and cloudy here and the smoke cleared so I am finally feeling better! Thank you!

Gasp! I want that coat! Did you see the cat in the poster wink? That freaked me out!!
I know!!! I had to stare at it a while to figure out if it's winking or I'm going insane 🙂 That's the print I'm talking about…it's so cute!
Cynthia, love the shirt you're wearing.
When the clock strikes 12:00 does it meow?
I don't think so but that would be so amazing if it did!

I have to laugh because when I first saw this post, my eyes jumped straight to the mannequin and I started searching for cat prints on the dress. Then I noticed the clocks! I have always thought cat clocks were cute and since my kitchen is decorated in a 40's/ 50's style, one of these would work.
This was a a great backdrop for your blog!
Have a great weekend,
Stacey
Oh no! LOL! I should have clarified what to look at at the start of the post. I just love that the clocks are made here in California. Thank you, Stacey! This was a fun post to do!

This is awesome! I'm a sucker for this sort of thing, too. If I feel like something is speaking to me, I will totally disregard that it's a marketing scheme and pull out my pocketbook. For me…it would have to be Anthro or Lane Bryant or IGIGI doing a princess/fairy/unicorn theme. Shut up and take my money!!!
Your photos are sweet, and that top is lovely! The fabric and coppery hue are very 1930's/Downton. Because those are totally the same thing, right?

Loooove Downton! I want all of those clothes from Downton.
It's funny how we know exactly what stunt they are pulling with marketing and yet we will go for it if it speaks to us. But then, that is just really good marketing and I actually applaud them for it. Scary though how they just know us so well sometimes. All part of the fun!

I have to say, I LOVED that picture of you on EA! Such a super cute outfit, and those clocks are adorable! You know, I don't actually think I've ever seen one, or heard of them… shocking, I know! But now I want one so that I can repaint it and re-fashion it into a RABBIT CLOCK! If the tail doesn't work as a tail, I could turn it into a carrot… maybe? (SacriIege, I know!)
Oh my gosh – your rabbit clock sounds wonderful. Get that made and start selling it!
The Kit Cat Clock is a piece of kitchy Americana that has been around since the early '30's. I am not surprised that you have not heard of it from across the pond. It's a kind of an obscure American thing.
