OMG – that church just… emerged!!
That is CRAZY. Crazy and fantastic, I mean – drought = bad, but if one is happening, at least something interesting comes of it.

Nice set of picks (and pics), Marcy!
The video, and the underwear one below it, was cool.
I lurve me some vintage clothes – particularly turn of the century thru 1940s, with a special love for the ’20s and ’30s – so I know what I would get if I ever required a wedding dress. (Don’t worry, Cindy – I just want the dress. I hate actual weddings, too. Oh, and I’m not a Halloween person, working to put together her costume either, even if my appearance suggests otherwise!)

My only gripe (sorry to gripe… can I gripe here? or only Marcy?) … as lovely as the “girls with cats” are, I scrolled pretty far down, and maybe not enough pictures loaded… but it would have been nice to see a little diversity in the women. I only saw a few who were not young, light skinned, and skinny. Which is fine, the artist has no requirement to make her models diverse… but just thought it might be more interesting to see something… else. I mean, aren’t we cat people supposed to be a little weird???

    Last, but not least…
I am beyond in love with that video on empathy vs. sympathy.
All I can say is YES. THIS.

PS – Merrie, if you’re reading this, I love your blog/site!

I can’t stop looking at those church pictures! So amazing! The cat/girl photographer did just start her blog so maybe she will get more diverse as it goes along? And weird!!! I really love that 1960’s wedding dress!
Glad you like the empathy video. It really resonated with me.

The cat in the bike basket is ridiculously cute!!! I love those Halloween costume ideas, super cute and not over the top like most. Those might make me reconsider my Halloween boycott. Great job once again Miss Marcy!

I may get to boycott Halloween after all. Our party thing may be cancelled! Ooops. 🙂

Marcy, I appreciate all the time you devote to finding these amazing things.
My favorite was empathy vs sympathy. An hour after I read this I found myself 0n the phone saying to someone who was sharing a problem “well, at least…” and then I caught myself.
What I hope to carve into my brain and have tip-of-the-tongue ready is the wonderful phrase “I don’t even know what to say right now but I’m so glad you told me.”
Thanks, Marcy. Or did Cynthia choose this one?

I think our impulse is to try to make it right. And of course… we can’t. Sometimes when I tell someone something I will say first that I don’t need a response or even a reaction. I think the video got it right that we really just need to be able to say it.
Oh – and I chose this one. Marcy has no empathy or sympathy. Well… usually.

The empathy/sympathy vid is a good reminder! Bridal dresses–kewl vid. Never wanted one myself, but love to look at them (for awhile I regularly tuned into the TV show Say Yes to the Dress) and it is fun to spot brides when wedding parties are having outdoor photo shoots. I always stop and gawk.

Sometimes I think we are the same person, Vik! I never wanted a wedding dress either but I like to watch Say Yes To The Dress and I love to gawk at brides having photo shoots on the street! Freddy is always so confused by this behavior. I thought I was the only one!

The cat jenga is awesome! I want one 🙂 Plus, that church is beautiful but extra creepy. I don’t think I’d take a boat out to it…(guess that makes me a scaredy cat..lol)

I am a scaredy cat too!

Definitely not too early for holiday dresses. I’ve already started shopping and have a few styles to review soon on the blog. The first couple are super formal and impractical, so I’m trying to be more sensible with my next couple of picks. I’m always the most dressed-up person at holiday get-togethers, and I’m fine with it. I wish the other ladies would get into the festive spirit and dress up too, but I think they find it a chore instead of a pleasure. That black and blue style (is it brocade?) you selected is gorgeous. I can definitely see you wearing it for the holidays. But since you questioned the practicality of your pink full skirt, I see your hesitation with this dress. lol

That church rising out of the lake is mesmerizing. Gorgeous, surreal photos of a gorgeous, surreal scene.

And of course I loved the history of wedding dresses. No surprise the 20s and 30s were my favorite looks!

I have to say – I’ve worn that pink skirt three times already! I just put it on and was always happy I did – even when I felt too dressed up. I think it is great that you always dress up for the holidays! It is interesting how sometimes dressing up is a chore and sometimes it is fun. I go back a forth on it. But no matter what – when I’m dressed up I always feel good!

That dress is so pretty! The high-low hem is gorgeous. And I’ve been eyeballing those pointy-toed flats at J. Crew for months now. Darn you!

    • Reply MarcyVeryMuch October 31, 2015 at 12:35 pm

Uh oh. I can’t stop eyeballing those flats either. Aren’t they just the perfect shade of red? You know, I bet we would wear them all the time! Really really! Lol – let me know if you cave so I can succumb to peer pressure as my excuse for buying them!
