Christmas Wreath |
Marcy: What happened to the spectacular vertical Christmas Tree, Cindy? This one is boringly round.
Cynthia: You mean the tree you destroyed last year? The tree you used as a scratching post and then shattered all the ornaments because you thought they were mice mocking you?
Marcy: Yes, that one.
Cynthia: It’s gone and in its place we have this lovely wreath that we placed up high and out of your reach.
Marcy: Ha. That’s what you think.
Cynthia: We decorated the wreath with custom made ornaments from the fabulous folk artist, Ryan Conners of Kilkennycat Art. I am in love with her creative, quirky, and whimsical cat folk art. They are fairy tales about cats. And, since I have a cute red VW bug that constantly transports kitties, how could I resist?
Cynthia: This one is of you and Scooter. Notice you are in the drivers seat.
Marcy and Scooter |
Marcy: As it should be.
Cynthia: Here is one of Penelope Kitten taking her BFF, Hamlet, for a spin in my VW beetle.
Marcy: I hope they get a speeding ticket.
Cynthia: Marcy. Not necessary.
Marcy: But I don’t like Penelope Kitten. She never obeys the kitty laws. She always wants to be boss and she always whaps me on the head. She needs to get some kind of citation!
Cynthia: Still, show some holiday spirit for goodness sake.
Marcy (begrudgingly): Okay. I hope they have a nice time.
Cynthia: Thank you.
All of a sudden Marcy’s pupils widen to the size of marbles and her ears flatten out like pancakes.
Cynthia (scared): Oh my gosh. What is it?
Marcy: I spy a dangly disco ball mouse hanging from the round Christmas Tree and it’s… mocking …me. I must kill it. Now.
Marcy leaps 10 feet in the air. The wreath comes crashing down.
Cynthia (groaning): Marcy… not again…
*Kilkennycat Art has really adorable cat ornaments and paintings. Check out Ryan Conners’ Etsy shop for her sweet cat folk art. Here’s a painting of kittens having their first Christmas up for sale in her shop.
